ACWA Power Signs Agreement for 2GW Wind Power Plant in Egypt

ACWA Power Company, Saudi Arabia announces the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to Develop, Build, Own, Operate a wind power generation plant in Egypt, with a capacity of up to 2.0 GW.

The value of the contract is SAR 8.6 billion.

The PPA was signed with Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC).

Project Scope of Works includes Development, financing, construction, ownership and operation of a wind energy project with capacity of 2.0 GW in Hurgada, Egypt. The duration of the contract is 25 years.

Earlier during January 2025, ACWA Power together with consortium partner HAU Energy, a subsidiary of Hassan Allam Utilities, achieved the financial close for the 1.1GW Suez Wind Farm in Egypt. (read more)
