The consortium led by EDF Renewables Middle East and SPIC Huanghe Hydropower Development Co. Ltd successfully signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) to develop two solar IPP projects with a combined capacity of 1,400 MW in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
PPA was signed for the following two projects:
- Al-Masaa IPP: The 1000 MWac Al Masaโa IPP to be located in the Hail province
- Al Henakiyah 2 IPP: The 400 MWac Al Henakiyah 2 IPP to be located in Madinah province

The projects will Power 240,000 homes annually, displace over 2.7 million tons of COโ each year and boost local employment and contribute to Saudi Arabiaโs renewable energy targets.
