Bahrain receives the bid of value $172.4 million for Ras Abu Jarjur RO Plant rehabilitation works

Electricity and Water Authority, Bahrain announces the receipt of Bids for Ras Abu Jarjur RO Plant rehabilitation works.

Only Tecton Engineering and Construction submitted the bid and the bid value is BHD 64.85 million.

The objective of the rehabilitation works for Ras Abu Jarjur RO Plant is to maintain an initial Net Water Capacity of 16.2 MIGD, while ensuring that the water quality adheres to the standards set by the World Health Organization for drinking water.

Additionally, it is imperative for the plant to meet the guidelines established by the Supreme Council for Environment.

Furthermore, this upgrade aims to extend the life span of the station for a period of 20 years.

The scope of work of the project includes the development and implementation of electro mechanical works, the replacement of the high pressure pumps with others that are more efficient and capable of saving energy.

The project also consists in replacing the membranes of the reverse osmosis units, upgrading the civil structure, in addition to using the latest technologies that are compatible with environmental requirements in the operational process of the station.
