Shandong Electric Power Construction Corporation No. 3 (SEPCO3) announced in a statement that it has successfully won the bid for Saudi Arabia’s Rumah 1,800 MW combined cycle power plant project and Nairyah 1,800 MW combined cycle power plant project, achieving new breakthroughs and progress in the development of the Saudi country market.
The Rumah project is located in Riyadh Province, Saudi Arabia, and the Nairyah project is located in Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. Both projects are gas-fired combined cycle power plant projects, with natural gas as the main fuel, diesel as the backup fuel, and air cooling as the cooling method.
The two projects are key projects for Saudi Arabia to cope with the growing demand for industrial electricity, further improve Saudi Arabia’s power structure, enhance the peak-load capacity of the power grid, and ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid under the background of “Vision 2030”.
These are the large-scale gas-fired combined cycle power plant projects that the company has successfully won after winning the bids for the Taiba and Qassim combined cycle power plant projects in Saudi Arabia in 2023.
Earlier, The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) has announced the winning bidders for the Rumah -1, Rumah -2, Al-Nairyah -1, and Al-Nairyah -2 Conventional IPPs projects. (read more)
