Alghanim International, Kuwait announced in a statement that it has been awarded a contract for the conversion of the second stage of the Sabiya Gas Turbines to a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant (CCGT-2).
The Project was awarded by Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy.
This project aims to increase the production capacity of the Sabiya Power Station by about 250 MW.
The company stated that, this significant milestone underscores our commitment to advancing Kuwait’s energy infrastructure and highlights our dedication and expertise in successfully delivering major projects that benefit communities.
It is also a new addition to company’s growing portfolio of energy projects in the region. The company’s most recent achievement is the Duqm Integrated Power and Water Project in Duqm, Oman that is designed and constructed to supply the essential power and water to the Duqm Refinery based on the state-of-the-art combined cycle and reverse osmosis (RO) technologies. It includes a natural gas-fired 325 MW combined cycle power plant integrated with a 1,500 cubic meters per hour of product water utilizing seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant and other associated auxiliary systems
