Saudi Arabia issues RFQ for Round 6 Renewable Energy Projects with Total Capacity 4,500 MW

The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) has released request for qualification (RFQ) for the sixth round of renewable energy projects under the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) which is led and supervised by the Ministry of Energy.

The combined capacity of Round 6 projects is approximately 4,500 MW; the projects are as follows:

  1. The [1500] MWac Dawadmi Wind IPP to be located in the Central province, KSA.
  2. The [1400] MWac Najran Solar IPP to be located in the Southern province, KSA.
  3. The [600] MWac Samtah Solar PV IPP to be located in Central province, KSA.
  4. The [600] MWac Darab Solar PV IPP to be located in the Southern Province, KSA.
  5. The [400] MWac Sufun Solar PV IPP to be located in the Central Province, KSA.

These projects are part of NREP, which aims to achieve the optimal energy mix, displacing liquid fuels in the Kingdom’s power sector and supply 50% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2030.

SPPC is responsible for the predevelopment, tendering, and subsequently offtaking the Energy from the projects.

Bidders need to submit their intention to Bid by 15 October 2026.
