UAE’s AMEA Power Signs PPA for 1 GW Wind Project in Uzbekistan

AMEA Power announces that it has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a 1,000MW wind project in Uzbekistan. This significant milestone underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its renewable energy footprint in Asia.

The PPA was signed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Board for Strategic Development, Transformation, Expanding Cooperation in Industry, Digitalization and Information Technology of the JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan, His Excellency, Artikov Sobirjon Sadullaevich, and Senior Director of Project Development at AMEA Power, Basma Bentaher. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

The 1,000MW wind project will support Uzbekistan in reaching its renewable energy target of achieving 40% of electricity production from renewables by 2030.
