South Korea’s Heerim awarded design contract for Automotive Manufacturing Plant in Saudi Arabia

South Korea’s Heerim Architects & Planners announced in a statement that it has secured the architectural design contract for Hyundai Motor Co.’s new automobile assembly plant in Saudi Arabia.

The project, a joint venture with Saudi’s Public Investment Fund, is set to be located in the King Abdullah Economic City, positioned 100 km north of Jeddah.

This facility marks Hyundai’s first manufacturing foothold in the Middle East, with plans to produce 50,000 vehicles annually.

The latest contract enables Heerim to add another Hyundai plant to its portfolio, following the Genesis factory in Ulsan.
