Masdar, UAE signed an agreement with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority to develop 10GW of renewable energy projects by 2035.
The agreement was witnessed by a high-level delegation from the UAE and Malaysia: the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the Honorable Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim; HE DrSultanAlJaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Chairman of Masdar and COP28UAE President-Designate; HE Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, UAE Minister of State; Malaysia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr Ambry Abd Kadir; Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry, HE Senator Tengku Zafrul Aziz; and the Ambassador of Malaysia to the UAE, HE Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil bin Shamsuddin.
The agreement was signed by Masdar CEO, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, and Datuk Wira Arham Abdul Rahman, CEO of MIDA. Ahead of the UAE hosting COP28UAE, this strategic alliance demonstrates Masdar’s market expansion in Southeast Asia and commitment to support Malaysia’s NetZero goals.
