Equinox Hotels, a revolutionary luxury hospitality brand, has been selected by Red Sea Global, the developer behind the world’s most ambitious regenerative tourism destinations, to unveil Equinox Resort Amaala, an unparalleled luxury resort experience in Amaala along the Red Sea coast in northwestern Saudi Arabia. Set to open as part of the first phase of development at Triple Bay, the Equinox Resort Amaala will be located adjacent to the Triple Bay Marina Yacht Club and surrounded by pristine mountain ranges and crystal-clear waters.
An integrated wellness haven being developed by Red Sea Global, this destination will evolve the concept of luxury travel, with an exceptional well-being offering inspired by the purity of the Red Sea.
Equinox Hotels CEO, Christopher Norton, said, “Amaala is a destination that perfectly aligns with our mission of redefining luxury hospitality. Our highly differentiated resort offering will provide guests an unparalleled experience that only a brand like Equinox can deliver. We’re excited to partner with an amazing developer like Red Sea Global that has similar and strong values rooted in sustainability.”
The year-round destination features a pristine landscape and diverse natural ecosystems, coupled with unbridled access to local culture and heritage. It incorporates wellness, art, adventure, sport, yachting, and lifestyle in line with the high-performance DNA of Equinox Hotels.
Designed by Foster + Partners, Equinox Resort Amaala is focused on high-performance living including programming and amenities around movement, nutrition, and regeneration. The resort will include 128 luxurious guest rooms and suites, several world-class culinary concepts, a Beach Club, a highly acclaimed spa, a magnesium salt rooftop pool, and a signature Equinox Fitness Club. The result will be an unparalleled, experience-driven resort anchoring Triple Bay in Amaala as one of the world’s most exclusive destinations.
Sustainability will be at the center of Equinox Resort Amaala’s design. The larger Amaala development has set goals to go beyond ’no harm’ to have a regenerative impact on the environment, delivering a 30% net conservation benefit to local ecosystems by 2040. This will be achieved by enhancing biologically diverse habitats including mangroves, seagrass, corals, and land vegetation. The entire destination will be powered by 100% renewable energy and run with a zero-carbon footprint once fully operational.
John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, said: “Amaala brings the best in health and wellness together in an area of extraordinary natural beauty to offer exceptional and transformative experiences for guests. Equinox’s unique brand of luxury and fitness is a fantastic fit, allowing visitors to choose self-improvement during their stay, getting back to nature on land or at sea, or simply enjoying quiet moments with loved ones in comfort and privacy.”
