Benoy announce the signing of a contract with Al Othaim Investment Company to continue work on the Konoz project, a cutting-edge entertainment city in the heart of Riyadh.
The signing took place between Tom Cartledge, CEO of Handley House, and members of the Al Othaim family, in the presence of Kemi Badenoch, UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, during a trip to Riyadh, KSA.
Benoy is the lead architect for the scheme, which includes 50,000 square meters of state-of-the-art commercial office spaces and a 20,000 square meter entertainment city aimed at supporting Riyadh’s thriving tourism and entertainment industry. In addition to its commercial spaces, the“Konoz” project features 15,000 square meters of green areas, parking for 5,500 vehicles, a 120,000 square meter commercial center, a world-class a luxury hotel with 250 rooms, 120 serviced residential apartments, and an additional 135,000 square meter residential apartment complex which includes 700 apartments.
The signing coincides with the announcement that Benoy has established a new regional HQ in Riyadh. The move will build on the strong presence Benoy has enjoyed in the Arabian Peninsula since 2007. During this time, Benoy’s engagement with Saudi Arabia has centred on delivering commercially successful design solutions tailored to the Kingdom’s cultural context, climatic conditions and strategic objectives. More recently, the social, economic and environmental focus of Benoy’s work has sought particuarly to align with Saudi Vision 2030, the country’s strategic framework first announced by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman in 2016, statement mentioned.
