SEC and RCU signs SAR3.5bn MOU for Electrical Network of AlUla

Royal Commission of AlUla (RCU), Saudi Arabia announced in a statement that it has signed a MOU with NationalGrid SA, a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company.

The MOU is to upgrade the Electrical Network of Alula, with loads estimated at 1000MVA with a cost of SAR3.5 billion.

Agreement objectives includes

  • increase electricity services reliability to AlUla residents and visitors,
  • Create and enhance a higher quality of infrastructure
  • Provide sustainable energy services in harmony with AlUla’s natural and human heritage
  • Increase efficieny of energy in alignment with AlUla’s vision.

As part of the agreement, a 380kV Substation and three 132kV Substations will be constructed, the statement mentioned.
