Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Saudi Arabia launched the prequalification round for Umm Ad Damar exploration license in Madinah under its “Accelerated Mining Initiative”, launched earlier this year.
Umm Ad Damar site spans more than 40 square kilometers (km), and includes copper, zinc, gold, and silver. The site is 300 km northeast of Jeddah and 25 km northwest of Mahd Adh Dhahab Governorate.
The licensing round for Umm Ad Damar site will comprise three stages: registration, prequalification, and bidding.
The ministry is planning to award the license by third quarter of 2022.
