The Energy Transmission Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has unveiled its strategic plan for 2022, featuring energy transmission and distribution projects to be implemented this year.
Many vital projects will also be carried out to provide electricity services to all regions and new development projects in Sharjah.
The plan includes the construction of two 220 kV power transmission stations, one 132 kV station and ten 33 kV stations, in addition to several projects aimed at improving power networks and upgrading stations.
The total cost of the projects is more than AED 925 million.
Engineer Hamad Al Tunaiji, Director of the Department of Energy Transmission, stressed that the plan was developed according to a comprehensive study of networks in all regions in Sharjah, under the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and with the support and follow-up of HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council. The plan will be implemented during this year (2022), Al Tunaiji said.
