SEPCO III, China announced in a statement that Saudi Arabia’s Rabigh Phase 3 Independent Water Project received the Guinness World Record Certificate.
The Project achieved a Guinness World Record of 600,000 cubic meters of fresh water per day, making it the largest single reverse osmosis desalination project in the world.
The Project repeatedly won awards form the owner, Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) and the local Governments making it a star and benchmark project of the owner.
ACWA Power submitted the lowest tariff at 0.53USD/m3 and was selected to develop the desalination plant alongside the Saudi Brothers Commercial Company (SBCC) in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia.
The value of the project is USD 750 millions.
The innovative design of this plant ensures the highest efficiency, reliability, and availability for any comparable plant in the world.
The water output will cater to the water demand of Makkah al-Mukarramah and Jeddah.
The Rabigh 3 IWP is being procured under a 25-year build-own-operate (BOO) contract.
