Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) announced in a statement that the following companies have been pre-qualified as Lead Developer for the Taiba Independent Power Plant:
- Abu Dhabi National Energy Company
- EDF S.A.
- General Electric Company
- International Company for Water & Power Projects
- JERA Co., Inc.
- Kahrabel FZE
- Korea Electric Power Corporation
- Marubeni Corporation
- Nebras Power Q.P.S.C.
- The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc.
For other applicants, they are able to participate in the Project as part of a consortium led by a lead developer from this list.
Earlier, during November 2021, 26 Companies submitted the expressions of interest (EOI). (read more)
The plant will have a net power capacity of 3,600MW and to be located near Madinah in the Western region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
SPPC is planning to sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the appointed developer for a period of 25 years following the beginning of commercial operations of the plant. The project be developed under a build, own and operate (BOO) structure.
Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) is being advised by Fichtner GmbH as Technical Consultant, Cranmore appointed as Financial Consultant and Linklaters appointed as legal Consultant.
