Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project, Construction of Um-Aljoud 380/110kV Substation. The Project location is in Makkah, Western region of Saudi Arabia.
The Project has been awarded to Al Gihaz Contracting Company , Saudi Arabia. The value of the contract is SAR 259 million (USD 69 million).
Earlier, during November 2021, SEC received nine bidders proposals for the project. (read more)
Project scope of work includes construction of new indoor 380/110kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) named as Um-Aljoud BSP.
Major equipment includes, 380kV GIS, 110kV GIS, 502MVA Power Transformers, Reactors, Protection & Control System, Substation Automation System, Telecommunication System, Security System, Cyber Security, Civil works and Electro-mechanical works.
The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of substation work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.
Project completion period is 28 months.
