Samsung C&T, South Korea announced in a statement that it has awarded the construction contract related to UAE’s high-voltage, direct current (HVDC-VSC) subsea transmission system Project.
The value of the contract is KRW 2.7 trillion (USD 2.2 billion).
Scope of Works includes Power conversion station (converter), substation supply and installation, and
subsea high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable supply.
The duration of the contract is four years.
Earlier, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA) and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) announced that it has awarded the development and operational contract to the consortium comprised of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), Japan’s Kyushu Electric Power Co. and Électricité de France (EDF).
