Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project, Installation of STATCOM at 9098 Switching station in Riyadh.
The Project has been awarded to Saudi based construction firm, Al Gihaz Contracting Company
The value of the contract is SAR 113.6 million (USD 30.3 million).

Project scope of work includes, Installation of one (1) No of +300 MVAR (Capacitive) and -300 MVAR (Inductive) 380kV DRPC comprising of VSC only at new Switching Station -1 BSP# 9098 in Central Region.
Installation of DRPC Transformers, Reactors, Resistors, VSC Controller, Cooling System, Switchgear, Auxiliary System, SAS, Protection, Control and all other requirements are part of the project.
Project completion period is 29 months.
