STRABAG awarded $49.1m Contract in Oman

STRABAG announced in a statement that its oman’s branch awarded a contract for the repair of roads that were damaged in the Al Batinah North Governorate region due to recent tropical cyclone in the beginning of October 2021.

The value of the contract is Euro 42.9 million (USD 49.1 million).

The Oman government has called contractors for direct award tender contracts to reinstate the roads damaged.

The scope of the Reinstatement Work covers three areas – the main road at Wadi Bani Omar, the main road at Wadi Sarmai and the main road at Wadi Al Jahawer.

The scope of works include:

  • Reconstruction of Rigid pavement,
  • Reconstruction of Irish crossings with Flexible pavement,
  •  Reconstruction of Damaged asphalt road
  • Cleaning and lining of ditches as required,
  • Cleaning and removal of the debris from the road alignment,
  • Roadside reinstalment and embankment protections,
  • Road Markings

The construction period of 15 months including mobilization will start in November 2021, statement mentioned.
