Samsung Engineering, South Korea announced in a public disclosure on Nov. 23 that it has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Saudi Arabia’s state-run oil company Saudi Aramco on Nov. 22 for the Jafurah Gas Treatment Package 1 project.
The company did not disclose the amount of the contract.
The project is part of the development of the Jafurah shale gas field, located 400 kilometers east of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital.
Samsung Engineering has been in charge of constructing a gas treatment facility, which produces high-purity gas by removing acidic gas such as sulfur compounds and impurities from the gas mixture.
The Jafurash gas field is the largest natural gas field in the Kingdom, stretching 170 km by 100 km, is estimated at 200 trillion cubic feet of rich raw gas.
