Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project, Installation of STATCOM at 9097 Switching station in Riyadh.
The Project has been awarded to India based construction firm, Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
The value of the contract is around SAR 116 million (USD 30.9 million).

Project scope of work includes, Installation of one (1) No of +300 MVAR (Capacitive) and -300 MVAR (Inductive) 380kV DRPC comprising of VSC only at new Switching Station -1 BSP# 9097 in Central Region.
Installation of DRPC Transformers, Reactors, Resistors, VSC Controller, Cooling System, Switchgear, Auxiliary System, SAS, Protection, Control and all other requirements are part of the project.
Project completion period is 26 months.
