The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) received the expressions of interest (EOI) for a combined cycle gas-fired Taiba Power Plant, on 23 November 2021.
A total of 26 companies, including 5 Saudi companies, expressed their interest in the Taiba IPP project as follows:

- Korea Electric Power Corporation;
- Malakoff International Limited;
- Marubeni Corporation;
- Mowah Co. CJSC;
- National Contracting Company Limited;
- Nebras Power Q.P.S.C.;
- NTPC BHEL Power Projects Private Limited;

- Orascom Construction;

The plant will have a net power capacity of 3,600MW and to be located near Madinah in the Western region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
SPPC is planning to sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the appointed developer for a period of 25 years following the beginning of commercial operations of the plant. The project be developed under a build, own and operate (BOO) structure.
Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) is being advised by Fichtner GmbH as Technical Consultant, Cranmore appointed as Financial Consultant and Linklaters appointed as legal Consultant.
