Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), Saudi Arabia announces the prices and preferred bidder for the development of a new Independent Sewage Treatment Plant, Madinah 3 ISTP.
Madinah 3 ISTP will have a treatment capacity of 200,000 m3/day expandable to 375,000 m3/day. It will be located in the city of Madinah in western Saudi Arabia.
SWPC announces that the consortium of Acciona, Tawzea, Tamasuk as preferred bidder. The consortium submitted Levelized Cost of SAR 1.2157/Cu.m (USD 0.325/Cu.m).
SWPC also announces that the consortium of Aqualia, Alfanar, Al Khorayef will be the reserved bidder. The consortium submitted Levelized Cost of SAR 1.5993/Cu.m (USD 0.426 /Cu.m).

Project scope of work includes development, financing, engineering, procurement, construction, implementation, ownership, operation, maintenance and transfer of the Project, together with associated infrastructure and facilities.
Under a 25-year Sewage Treatment Agreement (STA) with SWPC, a project company is to be incorporated to develop the Project and will treat the entire sewage capacity supplied by SWPC.
SWPC’s obligations under the STA will be supported by a credit support agreement from the Government of Saudi Arabia.

- Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (DIFC Branch – Dubai) as Lead and Financial Adviser
- DLA Piper as Legal Adviser
- WS Atkins & Partners Overseas Engineering Consultants as Technical Adviser.
