Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) announced in a statement that Request for Qualification (RFQ) has been issued for the Rabigh 4 Independent Water Project (IWP) to the interested companies.
SWPC states that, a total of 39 companies, including 21 Saudi companies, expressed their interest in Rabigh-4 IWP as follows:

Earlier, during May 2021, SWPC seeks Expressions of Interest for Rabigh 4 IWP (read more).
Rabigh 4 IWP will be designed using Reverse Osmosis seawater desalination technology.
The desalination plant will be located in Rabigh , 180 km northwest of Makkah, on the coast of the Red Sea in the Western Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Project will be constructed with a 600,000 m3/day potable water capacity and will include the desalination plant and all associated infrastructure and facilities.
Power supply for the project will be facilitated from Saudi Electricity Company’s high voltage network
The developer scope of work includes, development, financing, procurement, implementation, operation and maintenance of the Project.
SWPC will purchase the output and entire capacity of the project, under a Water Purchase Agreement (WPA) for a period of 25 years.
SWPC’s obligations under the WPA will be supported by a credit support agreement from the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
SWPC is advised by KPMG Professional Services (Lead and Financial Adviser), Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP (Legal Adviser) and WSP (Technical Adviser).

- Rabigh-3 IWP having plant capacity 600,000 Cu.m per day to ACWA Power Consortium (read more)

- Yanbu-4 IWP having plant capacity 450,000 Cu.m per day is awarded to Engie Consortium. (read more)
