Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) announced in a statement that it has signed a contract to secure mining services for the Saudi Arabia’s largest gold project, Mansoura and Masarrah Mines and Factory.
The Contract was awarded to Jac Rijk Al-Rushaid Contracting and Services Company.
The range of services will include drilling, scaling, loading, hauling, re-handling, ore control, dewatering, crusher feed, and all related production activities at the mines.
The Mansoura and Masarrah mines and factory are within the seven mines of Maaden and one of the largest gold projects in the region.
The project aims to produce 250,000 ounces annually.
Maaden discovered these two mines as part of its accelerated mining exploration program.
It is forecast that the Mansourah-Massarah site will reach full production capacity by 2023 and will represent one-quarter of Ma’aden’s goal to produce 1 million ounces of gold per year by 2025.
In May 2019, Ma’aden has awarded the engineering, procurement and construction contract to a consortium of India’s Larsen & Toubro and Finland’s Outotec. The value of the contract was SAR 2.27 billion.
