ILF Consulting Engineers announced in a statement that it has awarded a contract for Master Plan of the Recycled Water Supply System (RWS) in the Al Ain Region, UAE.
The Project was awarded by The Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA Group).
The project aims to ensure supplies of recycled water for the irrigation of existing and future vegetation cover, warrant a sustainable use of water while reducing reliance on desalinated and groundwater, and fulfill the needs of landscaping in line with the recently developed urban development of the city.
This project it’s considered a significant milestone for Abu Dhabi Emirate’s sustainability. In addition, this master plan will help increase economic benefits, return and enhance tourist attractions in the Al Ain region.
Technical Data of the Project:
- Recycled Water Network of more than 5.0 km length with a diameter ranging from small to large sizes of different materials
- Pumping stations
- Future Interfaces points with Abu Dhabi sewerage services Company (ADSSC)
- Interface points between the main network and local network
- Direct Connections
- Using the above system, AADC is currently supplying approx. 30 MIGD (avg.) of recycled water to the existing customers in the Al Ain Region
