Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW), Kuwait received the bids for the Provision of Efficient & Continuous Engineering Inspection Services of Gas Turbines Combined cycle and auxiliaries at Sabiya West Power Station.
Following two bidders has submitted the proposals.
- Al-Dhow Engineering General Trading & Contracting Co. W.L.L
- Alghanim International General Trading & Contracting Co. WLL

MEW under this Package inviting Engineering Inspection Services Contract (EISC) for a duration of seven (7) years.
The complete scope of works include provision of all required staff, sub-contractors, supply of all spare parts including capital spares, all consumables including standard and special chemicals, lubricants and filters etc.
The contracotr need to provide a full comprehensive operation and maintenance services comprising regular management, operation and routine maintenance activities for each and all types of equipment, and carry out all Scheduled Capital Plant Maintenance Services including Minor Inspections, Hot Gas Path Inspection and Major Overhauls as required, all in accordance with the recommended inspection and maintenance practices and procedures of the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for the entire Sabiya West Combined Cycle Power Plant.
In 2009, the Ministry of Electricity and Water, Kuwait signed an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operation and Maintenance Contract with the joint venture between General Electric International Inc., and Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, for building a Combined Cycle Power Plant adjacent to the existing Sabiya Power Generation and Water Distillation Station, approximately 100 km north of Kuwait City.
The Combined Cycle Power Plant at Sabiya West Power Stations is a fully equipped power station with General Electric Gas and Steam Turbine and Generator Units, Hyundai Heavy Industries Heat Recovery Steam Generators, and including all of the necessary Balance of Plant and Station Common Auxiliaries, and is in commercial operation since August 2012.
