Capital Lights awarded $18.5million 132kV connection contract

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project Connection of NEMAR Substation 8375 with the 132kV network. The project location is in Riyadh, Central region of Saudi Arabia.

The Project has been awarded to Saudi based Construction Company, Capital Lights Co. For Electro-Mechanics (Capital Lights).

The value of signed contract is SAR 69,636,128 (USD 18.5 million).

Earlier, during February 2021, SEC received proposals from eight bidders.

Project Scope of work includes Design, supply, testing, commissioning and installation of two (2) 132kV Underground cable circuits, Single cable/phase, consisting of 1200 Sq.mm , Cu conductor, super clean-XLPE, Cu metallic sheath cable complete with all other accessories, from the Substation 8375 to network.

Total length of underground cable is approximately 20.2 km.

Project scope of works also includes Design, supply, testing, commissioning and installation of 132kV Overhead transmission line of route length 18km.

Contractor needs to achieve the final acceptance of the works by 22 months from Contract Signing Date.
