China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) announced in a statement that it has completed the main infrastructure work for the Al Mutlaa residential city project.
The Project has been haned over to the Project Acceptance Committee consist of Public authority for Housing Welfare, Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Electricity and Water, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
CGGC’s scope of work includes completion of 30 sq km infrastructure network out of the 120-sq-km residential city development. It includes 70 million Cubic meters of earth and stone excavations and filing in 08 blocks in the new city.
It also consist of 3,200km of pipeline network, 4.6 million sq.m of asphalt concrete pavement, 650,000 cu.m of rain water collection tanks.
The CGGC group had started the construction work in April 2017.
CGGC is a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group Company, a state-owned energy conglomerate with headquarters in Beijing.
CGGC had handed over the first batch of its housing infrastructure project to the authorities during October 2020.
Once completed, the Al Mutlaa Residential City, a vital project under the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, will accommodate 400,000 people.
