Japan’s JGC Holdings Corporation announced in a statement that its subsidiary in Saudi Arabia, JGC Gulf International Co., Ltd., signed a comprehensive agreement with Saudi Aramco for the brownfield projects.
As per the statement, the agreement covers various engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) works for upgrade/modification of existing oil and gas plants owned and operated by Saudi Aramco. Under this agreement, Aramco will award the contract through competitive bidding to one of the LTA contractors.
Plant modification work is extremely challenging, as it requires thorough knowledge of plant equipment configuration and location, incorporation of the latest technology into the design, as well as the planning and execution of a prompt and safe construction plan tailored to the plant’s operating conditions.
The contracts are established for a period of six years with an option to exercise another six years extension.
