Saudi Water Partnership Company S.M.L.L.C (SWPC) invited the qualified companies/consortia to submit their expressions of interest (EOI) for the Ras Mohaisen Independent Water Project (IWP).
Ras Mohaisen IWP will be designed using Reverse Osmosis seawater desalination technology.
The desalination plant will be located in Ras Mohaisen, 300 km south of Makkah, on the coast of the Red Sea in the Western Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Project will be constructed with a 300,000 m3/day potable water capacity and will include the desalination plant and all associated infrastructure and facilities.
Power supply for the project will be facilitated from Saudi Electricity Company’s high voltage network
The developer scope of work includes, development, financing, procurement, implementation, operation and maintenance of the Project.
SWPC will purchase the output and entire capacity of the project, under a Water Purchase Agreement (WPA) for a period of 25 years.
SWPC’s obligations under the WPA will be supported by a credit support agreement from the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
SWPC is advised by KPMG Al Fozan & Partners (Lead and Financial Adviser), Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP (Legal Adviser) and WSP (Technical Adviser).
Last date to submit EOI is on 05 November 2020.

- Rabigh-3 IWP having plant capacity 600,000 Cu.m per day to ACWA Power Consortium (read more)

- Yanbu-4 IWP having plant capacity 450,000 Cu.m per day is awarded to Engie Consortium. (read more)
- Jubail-3A IWP having plant capacity 600,000 Cu.m per day to ACWA Power Consortium (read more)
Jubail-3B IWP having plant capacity 570,000 Cu.m per day is in bidding stage (read more)
