Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the following 132kV Over Head Transmission Line (OHTL), cable projects in northern region of Saudi Arabia.
- Construction of 132kV Overhead Transmission line (OHTL) between East Qurayyat Substation and Qurayyat BSP
- Connection of Sakaka-D Substation with 132kV network.
The Project has been awarded to India based construction firm, Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
The combined value of signed contract is SAR 80,287,328 (USD 21,409,954).

At Qurayyat, project Scope of Works includes design, construct and complete one (1) new 132kV double circuit OHTL between East Qurayyat Substation and Qurayyat BSP. The circuit will have three phase, twin conductor per phase, vertical configuration, ACSR CONDOR conductor. Approximate route length of the OHTL is 34.5km.
At Sakaka, project Scope of Work also includes design, construct and complete the new 132kV Underground cable circuit from Sakaka-D Substation to Al Tuwair Substation. Approximate route length of 132kV Cable is 10.1km.
The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning.
Contractor need to achieve the final acceptance of the work within 17 months from the date of contract signed.
