Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW), Kuwait in association with Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects received the bidder proposals for “Transaction Advisory Services for the Independent Water and Power Producers, IWPP in Kuwait”.
The folllwoing four bidders has submitted the bids:
- Ernst & Young, UK
- KPMG, Netherland
- Pricewater house coopers, PWC, UK
- Rodl Middle East, Kuwait
The Ministry said that, it will review and evaluate the received proposals according to the regulations.
The assigned advisor or consortium will be responsible for prepare and complete the feasibility studies for each project and the whole tendering process including preparing the request for qualification documents, the evaluation process, preparing the tendering documentation, supervising the technical, financial & legal aspects of the project, assisting the ministry throughout the procurement process until the financial close of the project.
The ministry was seeking the proposals from the local, regional and international transaction advisors/consortiums for the following two IWPPs.
Az-Zour North Phase 2 & 3 (Combined):
The project will be located adjacent to the existing Az-Zour North 1 IWPP, approximately 100km from Kuwait City.
The project will be executed through design, finance, operate, maintain and transfer to the State of Kuwait.
The project is expected to have 2700MW Power Generation capacity and at least 165 MIGD of desalinated water production capacity.
AlKhairan Phase 1:
The project will be located adjacent to existing Az-Zour South Power Complex, approximately 100km from Kuwait City.
The project will be executed through design, finance, operate, maintain and transfer to the State of Kuwait.
The project is expected to have 1800MW Power Generation capacity and at least 125 MIGD of desalinated water production capacity.
