Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction announced in a statement that, it has secured supply of key components for the Fujairah F3 Combined Cycle Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The value of signed contract is approximately 70 billion won ($58 million).
The project has been awarded by Samsung C&T, EPC(Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor, involves building a combined cycle power plant with a maximum capacity of 2,400MW in Fujairah, a region located some 300km northeast of Abu Dhabi.(read more)
As per the terms of the contract, Doosan will be supplying one 270MW steam turbine and a 540MW generator for the project. The company emerged as the winner in the competitive bidding, where it went up against numerous global power plant equipment manufacturers.
“With the global market trend shifting toward large-size steam turbines for combined cycle power plants, this contract is all the more significant as we were selected over all these global players,” said Hongook Park, CEO of Doosan Heavy’s Power Service Business Group.
He added, “Using this project as a stepping stone, we strive to further solidify our position in the Middle East and step up our efforts to win more supplier contracts for power plant equipment.”
