India based construction firm, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announces in a statement that, it has secured an order for enhance the Al Dhakhlia Water Transmission System, Phase – II.
The project has been awarded by Public Authority for Water (DIAM), Oman.
Major scope of work includes 173 km of pipelines for water transmission with associated civil works, 18 RCC water storage reservoirs, 5 pumping stations with associated Mechanical, Electrical, Control and Instrumentation works.
The company mentioned that, this is a repeat order from the client and has been secured under international competitive bidding.
The engineering and construction company did not provide the exact value of the contract, but specified that as per its classification, the Significant project is in the range of over Indian Rupees (INR) 1000 crore (1$=73.19 INR).
Recently, Oman awarded a contract of value $213 million for the Water Transmission Line between Barka and Suhar.(read more)
