Delta Submits the lowest bid of $14 million for Al Qiran 132/13.8kV Substation in Riyadh Area

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Housing (MOH) announces the bid results for the project “Construction of Al Qiran Hosuing Project 132/13.8kV Substation”.

The Project locations will be in Qiran District of Riyadh area.

A total of thirteen bidders has submitted the proposals. Saudi based Construction Company, Delta Company Limited has submitted the lowest bid.

Delta Company  has submitted the price of SAR 52,479,000 (1$=3.75 SAR)

Al Qiran 132/13.8kV Substation:

In order to supply the power to Ministry of Hosuing Projects, Qiran Housing, it has been proposed to build 132/13.8kV Substations.

Project involves the construction a new indoor 132/13.8 kV Gas Insulated Substation, arranged in double bus single breaker configuration.

The Substation shall be equipped with IEC 61850 standards based technically and economically optimized Substation Automation System (SAS) and will be remotely controlled from the SEC’s Power Control Center (PCC) through SCADA and Communication.

The Substation consist of following major equipment:

  • 132kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS)
  • MV Switchgear
  • 50/67MVA, 132/13.8kV power transformers
  • 7MVAr Capacitor Banks
  • 500kVA, 13.8kV/400V-230V Station Service Transformers
  • Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) System
  • MV Power Cables and Terminations
  • AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply
  • Surge Arresters
  • Control/Protection System
  • Substation Automation System (SAS)
  • Communication System
  • Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System
  • Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works
  • Security System

The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new substation and cable works in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.

The project will be supervised and implemented by National Grid, a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company, Specifications and standards. The project will be funded by Ministry of Housing.

Contractor needs to achieve the final acceptance of the works by 25 months from Contract Signing Date.
