Saudi Arabia’s International Maritime Industries (IMI) awarded the project “fabrication and delivery of two jackup drilling units”.
The project has been awarded to UK based Oil & Gas Company, Lamprell.
As per the company statement, the value of signed contract is around $350 million.
Fabrication and delivery of two jackup drilling units:
Earlier, during Decemeber 2018, Lamprell received letter of intent from Saudi Arabia’s International Maritime Industries for the project.
IMI is the Joint venture between Saudi Aramco, Lamprell, Bahri and Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI).
As per the contract, Lamprell will fabricate and deliver, two (2) Keppel LeTourneau Super 116E jack-up drilling rigs
The rigs will be built according to the stringent requirements for operations in Saudi Arabian waters.
Lamprell will undertake most of the fabrication work for both jackup rigs at its Hamriyah yard, in the United Arab Emirates while maximizing work in Saudi Arabia to approximately 15% of the scope of work.
The work will be completed in two years for the first rig with the second rig being delivered three months later.
