Ministry of Housing issued 132/13.8kV Substation tenders for Riyadh Area

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Housing (MOH) issued following new tenders:

• Construction of Narjis Hosuing Project 132/13.8kV Substation
• Construction of Qiran Housing Project 132/13.8kV Substation
• Connection of Narjis and Qiran Substations with 132kV network

The Project locations will be in Qiran and Narjis of Riyadh area.

Project Description:

In order to supply the power to Ministry of Hosuing Projects Qiran Housing and Narjis Housing, it has been proposed to build 132/13.8kV Substations.

Project involves the construction a new indoor 132/13.8 kV Gas Insulated Substation, arranged in double bus single breaker configuration.

The Substation shall be equipped with IEC 61850 standards based technically and economically optimized Substation Automation System (SAS) and will be remotely controlled from the SEC’s Power Control Center (PCC) through SCADA and Communication.

Each of the Substation consist of following major equipment:

• 132kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS)
• MV Switchgear
• 50/67MVA, 132/13.8kV power transformers
• 7MVAr Capacitor Banks
• 2.5MVA, 13.8kV/400V-230V Station Service Transformers
• Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) System
• HV/MV Power Cables and Terminations,
• AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply,
• Surge Arresters
• Control/Protection System,
• Substation Automation System (SAS)
• Communication System
• Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System
• Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works
• Security System

For connection of 132kV network, Project scope of work involves the 132kV Cables works between new substations to source substations, of approximate route length 38km.

The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new substation and cable works in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.

The project will be supervised and implemented by National Grid Specifications and standards. The project will be funded by Ministry of Housing.

At present, tenders submission dates are Narjis (08-Jan-2020), Qiran (12-Jan-2020) and Cable (19-Jan-2020).
