Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project “Expansion of Najran University 380kV Substation”
The Project location is in Najran, Southern region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project has been awarded to South Korean based construction company, Hyundai Engineering & Construction.
The value of signed contract is SAR 108 million.
Earlier, during August 2019, SEC announces the bid results for the above project. After technical and commercial evaluation, the project has been awarded to contractor.
Project Description:
Scope of Work involves the expansion of an existing indoor 380/132/13.8kV Gas Insulated Substation, named as Najran University (NJR) 380/132/13.8kV BSP.
It includes protection, control, communication and SAS/SCADA systems. The BSP shall be equipped with IEC 61850 standards based technically and economically optimized Substation Automation System (SAS) and will be remotely controlled from the SEC’s Power Control Center (PCC) through SCADA and Communication.

Project Summary:
The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of 380kV substation work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.
Contractor needs to achieve the final acceptance of the works by 23 months from Contract Signing Date.
