Saudi Arabia shortlisted the contractor for 1.09GW Sudair solar power project

India’s engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) service provider, Sterling and Wilson announces in a statement that, it has received a letter of intent (LOI) to build 1.09GW DC Sudair solar power plant.

The value of the project is approximately $635 million. 

The Project Location is in Sudair Area, approximately 150km from Riyadh, capital city of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The total project capacity of Sudair Power Project will be 2000MW.

Sterling and Wilson Scope of Work includes Engineering, Construction and Procurement of the project on lump sum turnkey basis.

The Sudair Project is the first project awarded by Public Investment Fund (PIF), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Developer of the project is ACWA Power.

During October 2019, the company announced another EPC contract for a 200 MW (DC) solar power plant in Australia.The final contract has dealt through its local subsidiary Sterling & Wilson Solar Australia Pty. Ltd.

The contract value is A$220.83 million (US$151.18 million).

Sterling and Wilson built a 1.177 GW Solar power Project for Japan’s Marubeni and China’s Jinko Solar Co., Ltd. which is operating in Sweihan, Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is one of the largest single-site solar power plants in the Middle East.
