Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Housing (MOH) announces the bid results for “Construction of Umluj Housing 110/13.8 kV Substation”.
The project location is in Umluj, Tabouk (northwestern) region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
A total of fifteen bidders has submitted the proposals. Saudi based Construction Company, Al Mashariq Trading & Contracting Company (Al Mashariq) has submitted the lowest bid.
Al Mashariq has submitted the price of SAR 60.5 million (1$=3.75 SAR)
Project Description:
To meet with the expected power requirement of Umlujj Housing Project, Ministry of Housing invited the tender for construction of 110/13.8kV Substation.
The project scope of work includes the following major material:
- 110kV Gas Insulated Switchgear
- 50/67MVA, 110/13.8kV Power Transformers
- 13.8kV Switchgear
- 13.8kV, 7MVAr Capacitor Bank
- 500kVA, 13.8kV/400-230V Station Service Transformers
- MV Power Cables and Terminations,
- AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply,
- Surge Arresters
- Control/Protection System,
- Substation Automation System (SAS)
- Communication System
- Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System
- Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works
Project scope of work also includes extension of existing 110kV GIS by two bays at Umluj North BSP. Additions/modifications of Protection, Control system at Umluj North BSP is also part of the contract.
The project will be implemented and supervised by National Grid SA.
The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new substation work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.
Contractor needs to achieve the final acceptance of the works by 24 months from Contract Signing Date.
Earlier, Ministry announced the bid results for the high voltage cable connection tender, between the source substation and new substation. Saudi based Construction Company, October Construction was the lowest bidder.
