Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project “Power Supply to Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) 115/13.8kV Substation”.
The project location is in Khafji, eastern Region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The project has been awarded to Romania based construction company, Romeelectro Arabia LLC .
The value of the contract is SAR 46,209,289 (1$=3.75 SAR).
Earlier, during April 20109, a total of twenty bidders has submitted the proposals. After technical, commercial evaluations, the project has been awarded.
Project Description:
The new project will serve the load demand of Khafji Joint Operation (KJO) faciclies in eastern region. The project scope of work includes the following major material:
- 13.8kV Switchgear
- 7MVAr Capacitor Banks
- MV Power Cables and Terminations,
- AC/DC Auxiliary Power Supply,
- Surge Arresters,
- Control/Protection System,
- Substation Automation System (SAS)
- Communication System
- Fire Detection/Alarm and Safety and Fire Protection System
- Civil/Structural works and Mechanical works
Project scope of work also includes Installation, testing & commissioning of 115kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), 50/67MVA, 115/13.8kV power transformers. The material will be provided by SEC.
Additions/modifications of Protection, Control system at Khafji 380/115/13.8 kV BSP is also part of the contract.
The project is funded by Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) and it will be supervised by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC)
The Contractor shall perform on Lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new substation work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.
Contractor needs to achieve the final acceptance of the works by 27 months from Contract Signing Date.
