Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) announces that, it has cancelled the tender for “Request For Proposal (RFP) for Transaction Advisory Services for the the Independent Water and Power Producers (IWPPs) in Kuwait”.
As per the statement, the tender will be retendered shortly after amending the tender documents.
Earlier, during December 2018, MEW issued a Request for Qualification seeking the consultancy services for the planned two (2) independent Water and Power Producer (IWPP) Projects.
- AlKhairan IWPP (Phase I), will be a conventional thermal power with a seawater based desalination plant with a minimum capacity of 2500 MW (net power exported) and 125MIGPD.
- Az-Zour North IWPP Phase 2 & 3, will be a conventional thermal power with a seawater based desalination plant with a minimum capacity of 1500 MW (net power exported) and 102MIGPD,
During March 2019, following consortiums submitted the technical and commercial envelopes to the authority:
- Ernst & Young ,CMS and Mott McDonald
- PriceWaterHouseCoopers , Fichtner , Ashurst
- SMBC Bank , ATKINS , DLA PIPPER
