Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC), formerly known as Water & Electricity Company (WEC) announces the qualified consortia for Jubail-3 Independent Water Project (IWP).
The plant will be designed using Reverse Osmosis seawater desalination technology. Jubail -3 IWP will have a total capacity of 1,170,000 m3/day net of potable water.
However, 600,000 m3/day potable water capacity for Jubail-3 (A) and 570,000 m3/day potable water capacity for Jubail-3 (B) to be tendered separately.
The desalination plant will be located Jubail area, eastern region of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, during June 2019, a total of 55 companies submitted their expression of interest to participate in Juabil-3 IWP.
Now, SWPC announces the qualified Consortia as follows:
- International Company for Water and Power Projects (ACWA Power)
- FCC Aqualia SA , Haji Abdullah Alireza & CO. LTD. and Alfanar Company
- Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios, S.A.
- ENGIE Middle East
- Malakoff International Limited
- Marubeni Corporation and Power and Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu
- Mitsubishi Corporation
- Suez Groupe
- Veolia Middle East
- Utico FZC
Under a concession of 25 years, the project company to be incorporated to develop the Project will sell the entire capacity and output to SWPC under a Water Purchase Agreement (WPA).
SWPC is being advised by:
- Synergy Consulting IFA Inc as Lead and Financial Adviser;
- DLA Piper Middle East LLP as Legal Adviser; and
- Atkins as Technical Adviser.
