On 26-Aug-2019, The Renewable Energy Project Development Office (REPDO) of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources (MEIM) has conducted a conference to explain the details of Request for Proposal (RFP)s for Round Two of the Kingdom’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP).
The conference was held for Category A’ projects, which consist of two project namely Madinah Solar PV IPP and Rafah Solar PV IPP.
- Madinah Solar PV IPP with a capacity of 50 MW to be located in the Al Madinah Province, approximately 26 km from Madinah city
- Rafha Solar PV IPP with a capacity of 20 MW to be located in the Northern Borders province, approximately 16 km away from Rafha city
REPDO’s advisers, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (DIFC Branch) – Lead and Financial Adviser, DLA Piper Middle East LLP – Legal Adviser and Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG – Technical Adviser briefed the details of project.
‘Category A’ projects require consortium members to partner with at least one local managing member.
The deadline for ‘Category A’ projects is 3 December 2019. REPDO planned to appoint shortlisted bidder by 03 February 2020.
