Kuwait signed a deal of $ 597 million for offshore drilling contract

US firm Halliburton announced that, it secured an Integrated Offshore Drilling Services (IODS) contract for six high-pressure high-temperature (HPHT) exploration wells on two jack-up rigs in the Arabian Gulf.

The project has been awarded by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).

The value of the contract is KD181.4 million ($597million).

The project scope of works  includes providing and managing drilling, fluids, wireline and perforating, well testing, coring, cementing, coiled tubing, and all offshore logistical services.

Project scope of work also includes, providing of the offshore rigs and supply vessels for the project.

The contract duration is 3-years with a 6-month extension option.

Work will begin in mid-2020. The expected start date for the first rig is July 2020 and for the second rig, January 2021.
