Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) revealed its future program to build new 132/13.8kV Substation over the next three years, to meet growing demand for power in Dubai.
As per the report, a total of Sixty Eight (68) new 132/13.8kV substations will be constructed across Dubai. The allocated budget for these substations is AED 8 billion.
DEWA’s yearly power demand is increasing at a rate of 3.34 %. DEWA’s total production capacity reached 11,100 MW during the year 2018, while the peak demand for electricity was recorded at 8,507 MW in the year 2018, compared to 8,232 MW in 2017.
As per the report, DEWA allocated a total budget of AED 86 billion towards Dubai’s energy sector over the next five years.
Up until the end of last year, DEWA established a total of 258 main substations of 132/11kV in 2018, 18 of which were commissioned in 2018 at a total cost of AED 2.05 billion.
