24-Jan-2019: Saudi Based ACWA Power has submitted the lowest bid for the Bharain’s Solar PV Independent Power Project (IPP). The output of the project is 100MW.
Earlier during December 2018, along with ACWA Power, Saudi Based Alfanar and South Korea based GS Engineering Consortim submitted their Proposals.

Bahrain’s Electricity & Water Authority (EWA) plans to develop a solar pv power plant in in the Askar landfill site, in the Southern Governate of the Kingdom of Bahrain on a land area of 2,000,000,000 sqm.
The project will be implemented in line with Bahrain’s National Energy Efficiency Plan and the National Renewable Energy Plan under which the country will aim to produce 5% of its total power from renewable by 2025.
The project covers the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant with all its related facilities.
