Alfanar Secures $50.6 million KSEIC 380/115kV Substation contract

On 29 November 2018, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded the project “Construction of new EIC 380/115kV BSP”
 
The project has been signed by Saudi based construction Company, Alfanar

The value of the project is 189.85 million Saudi Riyals (1$=3.75 SAR)

About the Project:
 
Saudi Aramco intends to develop an Energy Industrial City (EIC) located in Abquaiq area.
 
SEC has agreed to provide a power supply to EIC from Shedgum-2 380kV BSP & Dammam Housing 380kV BSP through 380kV double circuit transmission line each, construction of new EIC 380/115kV substation, construction of 2 (two) 115/13.8kV substations and its interconnection with two 115kV double circuit transmission lines are to be built by SEC.

This project covers the construction of a new indoor type 380/115kV GIS Substation named as EIC 380/115kV BSP with the related works in connection with the Metering, Protection, Control and Communication. The new Substation shall be equipped with Substation Automation System (SAS) and will be remotely controlled from the Power Control Center (PCC to be constructed by Saudi Aramco), through SCADA system, Communication System and gateway.

The monitoring, Control and Protection system shall be as per IEC 61850 Standard based on Substation Automation System. The substation shall be provided with “Class-C” facility. All polices of SEC 5-Star safety and Health Management System shall be implemented in this project.

On commissioning EIC 380/115 kV BSP by SEC this Power Facilities will be, operated, maintained and owned by SAUDI ARAMCO under EIC Project
